Paying It Forward

There’s been a groundswell of ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ in recent years, whether it be picking up a cup of coffee for the person in line behind you or hiding money in places that you know will be found, it’s everywhere. The recipients of such gifts are so delighted that they feel compelled to ‘pay it forward’ and so it goes, for it is the giving, not necessarily the receiving, that gives us the most pleasure.
One word to describe this act is Altruism, or selflessness, and is the principle or practice of concern for the welfare of others, while making yourself happy in the process . It’s a big definition for a very simple principle.

Here in the office, we all enjoy finding better ways to make your Payroll process more efficient, and as complicated as Payroll, HR, and Timekeeping are becoming these days, you could say we find a lot to be happy about!
As we all know in our world, the act of processing payroll can be very sterile at times, and when we are on “deadline day,” I’m sure our co-workers would hardly describe our demeanor as “happy.” Yet, let’s face it, after the deadline passes and payroll is processed and dispatched to eager employees, there really can’t be a more satisfying feeling.
We spend so much time dealing with processes and laws, it’s easy to forget that there is a person, a family and a story behind every paycheck. Relying on the figures on that piece of paper determines how they’ll spend their time that month. It makes no difference the numbers on the check, EVERYONE, looks forward to seeing that paycheck hit their account and the small little glow of satisfaction of knowing it is there. It is no wonder that we put so much pressure on ourselves to get it right.
Our responsibilities at APlus are wide and varied, yet we’re all bonded by the same goal, to make your job easier. To make payroll (and deadline day) as stress-free as possible so you can spend more time making your employees even more productive than they already are. If we can do that, then we really are practicing altruism – paying it forward in both a literal and metaphorical sense.
If you haven’t, been by the office lately, we’d love you to meet our staff. Also, if you’d like to hear more about our Genesis Workforce Management Software and the features that can greatly enhance your payroll process, feel free to schedule a demo or call us at (417) 890-6404.
