Merry Christmas from APlus Payroll!

Many of us will sit down this Christmas and at some point watch ‘Its a wonderful life’, starring Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey, as a small town businessman in Bedford Falls, NY. In case you need a refresher (and without giving too much away if you haven’t seen it) it is the classic tale of a young man with a head full of dreams, who gradually gets worn down by life. He reaches a point of abject frustration and becomes bitter and frustrated that he never lived out his dreams.

It takes some ‘divine intervention’ to save him from ending it all and showing him that he didn’t have to leave his hometown in order to make a difference in the world. In fact, because of the actions of George over the years, many people in his town were able to live out their dreams and make a better life for themselves.

At this time of year, it’s always wonderful to take pause and reflect on the year and the people who have helped us along the way. However, like a ripple on a lake, don’t ever forget the profound effect that your small, every day actions have on those people around you, whether in your personal or professional life.

So here’s our 5 takeaways from George Bailey:

You will never truly know what a difference you are making in someone’s life.
In business or life, always strive to do the right thing.
Be grateful for what you have.
Without faith, family and friends a person truly has nothing.
